Lowry Park Zoo Tampa, FL March 19th Part 1

Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa Florida this is only part of the zoo's exhibits. We plan to return to see lots more animals. We made it in time for the night time Dinosaur exhibit! Yes! Animatronic Dinosaurs... they are only there for a limited time. So we are very grateful to have visited while they were there.
We visited the American Alligator, Manatee's, Crocodile, Flamingo's, Sea Turtles, Komodo Dragon, Monkey's, and more! Alligator's and the Crocodile were cool. But Emery found something better....Komodo Dragon! Definitely his favorite, besides the Dinosaurs.  We Road the Carousel and the Train. Next time Emery can go on the Tiger Roller Coaster and Flying Bananas! http://www.lowryparkzoo.com/rides.php
Emery picked out a few souvenirs. He got a squishy Stegosaurus (his fav right now by the way), and they have machines that can make different shaped dinos' out of plastic. It molds it in front of you. He also got an Apatosaurus.( which is the Brontosaurus--yea I know they changed the name a while back, I didn't know that either until the other day so don't feel dumb or old cause I sure did!) He cared them EVERYWHERE at the zoo! He totally loved everything about it! Except maybe the monkey area...ehhh not impressed. (nor was mom, lol) All and all it was FANTASTIC!!! I love the Zoo before but with Emery it is even better! I think Mom wants to go back as much as Emery. We still need to visit the Penguins, Elephants, Cheetah, Hippo, Giraffe, Zebra and much more! --We only saw one side of the Park, it takes so long to see it all!!--

ANIMATRONIC DINOSAUR EXHIBIT @ night time!
They set the beginning up to look like a city ripped to shreds by the dino's, Like Jurassic Park 2. The first dino is a skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus Rex. It resembles the one in Night at the Museum. Then BAM! You are in the Cenozoic Era and there way above you is the Brachiosaurus! It was really neat. Emery's favorites (I think) the Styracosaurus ( looks like a triceratops to us! :)  TREX was pretty impressive as well and his favorite I hear most about... Edmontonia  (looks like spike from land before time--but Emery knows he is not an Ankylosaurus like spike. ) that Emery is very fond of and to see one up close and so realistic...he was amazed and in awe of him. All he keeps talking about is edmontonia, I saw dino's at the park/zoo. And now everyday it's can I go again....sigh, I love my lil guy. :) He was super scared at first. But the second walk thru he was happy as can be to see them! They were intimidating for some who is only a yard tall. Shoot 5-6ft in this case. And the third pass thru we almost had him touching them...but not. They also had a huge TREX inflatible slide (that he was to small for :(   but he still had a good time pretending to dig for bones : )

At home after visit....Emery was so wound up he jabbered all night about the zoo! He talked our heads off! Dino this, komodo dragon that! It was the greatest feeling to know he had such a great time. This was his Christmas slash Potty training gift/surprise. AND BOY DID HE DESERVE IT! :)  But there was one casulty that day....Plastic Molded Stegosaurus did not make it. :(  No it was not at the hand of Emery, but by the butt of Daddy.  YES, lol!!! James sat on stegosaurus. Emery was not pleased! With the most grown up serious tone and demeanor he says "A Daddy you squished him,!" And it was hard not to laugh at him. So poor Emery continues to say "No Daddy YOU broke him, YOU DADDY squished Stegosaurus!" He was very upset. He understood though that it was just another jur-ass-ic accident! LOL ;)
